Speaker's Bio: 

Manuel Fernandez is an accomplished leader with 25+ years of experience in various industries, including banking, telco, and manufacturing. He is passionate about helping businesses to use good cyber judgment, explaining risks in terms of business problems, and paving the path to a secure digital future. Manuel's ability to bring ideas and concepts into reality has provided tangible and measurable results. In the last two years, Manuel has led the Vulnerability Management and Security Testing programs, and he is driving the Cyber Risk Assessment evolution for the Bank of Canada.

Before joining the Bank of Canada in 2020, Manuel worked at Nokia, leading teams in Finance, Global Services, Reverse Logistics, and Managed Services. Before this, he spent 12 years in the manufacturing industry. Manuel holds an MBA and a bachelor's degree in Industrial engineering from Pan-American University in Mexico. He enjoys participating in triathlons and spending time with his family in his spare time.
